Gas tank filler screen
I have an indented cowl gas tank with the filler neck threaded to take the flame arrester screen. I dont see anything in the service bulletins about this tank reverting back to the earlier threaded type. I thought it should have the locking tab type . This is out of an English car just wondered if USA indented cowl tanks were also threaded.

Re: Gas tank filler screen
John,
Check out my website under "Additional Studies". There yoiu should find the article I did on that very subject for Model A News a few issues back. I think this will answer your question. Not everything was included in the Ford Service Bulletins...including this. Pluck |

Re: Gas tank filler screen
Not to change the subject, but do most people leave in the drop in type screen when getting fuel or remove it ? The first time or two getting fuel I had some issues with the pump which have a vapor recovery bootie and started removing it each time. What is (the screen) its main propose ??

Re: Gas tank filler screen
My friend and I are working on a 28 tudor that was in storage a long time, so long in fact that the screen had rotted on the gas screen. Apparently they don't repro the screw in type so we bought a tab type, removed the top and welded the old threaded top to the screen.
