Black early 1930 Ford Standard Coupe
What colour do have the window garnish (quater and rear), the dash rail, the door top cover plate and the windshield garnish on a black early 1930 Standard Coupe?
I know the Deluxe ones have these parts woodgrained, but what colour do the Standard cars have paint them. Thanks, Alex |

I don't have the paint guide handy but a lot of the standard models that I have seen were maroon.

Re: Black early 1930 Ford Standard Coupe
On a 30 coupe built before april 30, the dash rail, windshield pillars, door mouldings, quarter window mouldings, and rear window moulding is moulding gray. After april 30, they are all maroon.

Re: Black early 1930 Ford Standard Coupe
Oh now I found Moulding Gray in the Model A Ford Paint and Finish Guide.
The outside of the car is all black, is that correct? The outside mouldings aren't painted in this gray colour, I hope. That wouldn't look good at all, I think. Thanks to all they help me to get answers for my problem, Alex Quote:

Re: Black early 1930 Ford Standard Coupe
I own a 1930 Standard Coupe sold to the original owner on April 19, 1930, a date that is documented. The car was a low mileage all original car I acquired in 1941 and the dash rail was maroon and still is maroon, as are the garnish moldings.

Quote:
The interior has nothing to do with the exterior color. The very early '30 standard closed models (Coupe, Sport Coupe, Tudor, etc.) had brown check interior trim with gray mouldings (brownish gray). Beginning April 1930 these models had gray check interior trim and maroon interior mouldings. It's important to note that the oval speedometer you describe was used into June 1930 so that doesn't narrow down the date of your car much as it relates to this question.
