Aluminum heads tend to cause corrosion more than steel or iron.
After many years they can stick to the head studs and make it really hard to get the head to slide up over the studs.
I have seen two cars with aluminum heads where the water passages between the block and heads corroded closed completely. One was a ‘34 phaeton, but the owner would not allow that blankety blank antifreeze to be used in his cars. Or rust preventative.
I had a Pinto that I couldn’t get heat out of the heater after about 10 years.
The water passage from the head into the Aluminum iintake manifold was corroded shut solid. That water goes next into the heater
