I would assume you've heard of H&H Flatheads? A CA. business specializing in Flathead Ford motors.

Re: I need to rebuild my flathead
A little farther away but I used BMS Machine Services in San Bernardino. Dave is not just flatheads but he definitely knows them. He used to work for Banks in Azuza. He came highly recommended by several people whose opinions I trust. He builds all kinds of engines including ones for Bonneville cars. His prices were fair and the 8ba short block he built has at least 5,000 miles on it with no problems what so ever. Worth a call IMO.

I would get an itemized "build sheet" of what is going to be done - at what price. Now, they can run into things when they get into your specific engine (and have to call you as a result), but you need to know what the plan is for your exact build you're signing up for. The prices can and will vary widely (as does the work) - so know what you're getting into before you drop an engine off and are surprised at the final product and/or costs. |
