Re: Red steering wheel
And only on the 7-tooth steering.
There are repop red wheels which are not a bad copy being made which will fit the key top 2-tooth steering. Joe K

Re: Red steering wheel
Presuming you may have a Canadian Model A, add 2 to 3 months [ April '29] for use of the red 'wheel, commercials especially. Smaller volumes, the parts lasted longer than US production. Cheers. Tom in NZ.

We had a plane come in tonight that was painted in New Zealand, I've never knew we had any of our aircraft painted down under. This is a special purpose snow bird, used in the Antarctic/arctic areas, notice the props on this bad boy, eight blades, most 130's will have the old four blade or the new turbo six blade.

Re: Red steering wheel
Hi Burner
Yes, there is a large maintenance facility at Christchurch Airport. Also, Operation Deepfreeze [ US] is based there where flights depart to Antarctica to the research sites . In the '60's & '70's, servicemen at the base used to buy good Model A's here & put them in the plane holds to the US for free. In recent years so many cars have come in via ebay from the US that I think the debt has been repaid! Cheers Tom in NZ. |
