i have a bad feame under a 30 pu - will it fasten on a 29 frame without too many changes

Physicly it will bolt on, but you will have problems with body/hooh/ radiator alignment due to the difference in the front cross member. Rod

A late 29 frame should be OK. They lowered the radiator mounting pads on it.
