Default Need Limeworks steering wheel help

I'm installing a banjo steering wheel from Limeworks and have run into a horn button wiring issue. The steering wheel is second hand and I have no installation instructions. I've attached a picture of my horn button setup.

I know that the wire in the steering column is not attached to the horn button like the picture shows. I also know that I need a spring contact at the top of the steering column to make contact with the horn button when it is pressed. Has anyone run into this issue and what did you use to secure the ground wire at the top of the column? TIA
Tony

Thanks fordor41 I might do that. I was hoping someone else had encountered this problem and would share their solution.

Limeworks makes a decent little retro horn contact.

It's height along with the way it connected to the horn wire didn't work out for me, so I "turned" a piece of nylon in my drill press, pressed in a brass sleeve with a brass screw as a contact, and secured the wire connection with a set screw. Worked out just right.

Take a look at the 1940 horn wire it appears it should work, with the horn wire in your photo removed and the hole closed. The ground goes through the spring to the bottom of the button. The spring also holds the 40 contact down into the recess of the steering wheel. The wire is made reproduction so it should be easy to get.

If you cut the existing horn wire and replace it with a horn wire repair kit, this will work.
The bulge on the metal retaining bracket will contact the top of the repair kit copper, ground the connection, and the horn will blow.

Lime works has a horn kit that moves the contact to the horn button area and also transfers the wire out of the the steering tube. My only problem was the length from the end of the steering shaft to the horn button was to large. I moved the contact plate on the back of the button closer to the wire contact and it worked fine.

37 truck, where does the Limeworks kit move the wire to? It seems like my wire in the steering column is the tidiest way handle the ground.

The kit moves the wire down the steering shaft to a brass bushing on the shaft, a contact on the steering column runs against the brass bushing, then on to a permanent ground
