Default '39 commercial/std Generators- stampings??

While going thru a pile of these generators- I found 4 with field stampings as follows V-12; Z-12; and AA-12 would these be 12 volt conversions?? The only 'stock' stamping I found was B-8 [6-8 volt?] Lots of broken pulleys, An aluminum pulley unit, and some units with the AB style mount. Apparently the rebuilders had their way with the Generators just like the carbs. Now can the ohms check work on these units to ID the voltage of the fields?? thanks Newc

Those are date codes, the letter is the year and 12 is December, I do not have the list, you would have to check with a V8 Judge, I have had people contact me over the yrs, for certain date codes cases for show generators
