Default 37 Ford Tudor Quarter Window install questions

I'm trying to install the rear quarter windows in my 37 Tudor and have had to walk away from it several times in total frustration. I was able to figure out the door windows with only a little frustration but these are altogether aggravating!
My first problem is I had to buy new window channels which I'm told need to be cut to correct length for the particular year. (all of the parts suppliers I contacted sell the same channel, Drake, Carpenter, Mac's ...) Well I don't know the correct length since I don't have the originals. The measurement I need is from the front end of the channel to the center of the alignment stud which is mounted on the 'V' shaped flange that hangs on the bottom of the channel. Then how much of the window should extend past the front edge of the channel as well? The hook shaped arm on the regulator engages this stud and it must be in the correct position for the window to roll back, down and up properly.
Any help with this would be appreciated greatly!
Thanks, DACris

I cracked one of mine and quit trying. Noticed someone had cut the whole panel out and rewelded one side, wonder if that is how its done? I can tell you the vertical channel on the rear of your window is something you have to make as I do not believe it is offered as repop.

They can be installed without cutting the panel. It is acceptable and wise to walk away when frustration sets in.
I'm pretty sure the procedure is the same for the 40 tudor which I am familiar with.
Could you post some pics of the new channel piece?

Thanks! These measurements are really what I needed! The repo channels measured 6 5/8" with NO instructions as to what the measurements needed to be. This really helps! I'll let you know how it goes.
