Default 1955 Ford Gravel Pan color?

I think the original color was a Ford version of Argent, but for the 55/56 front Gravel Pan what did you guys use that looked close? I was thinking Rustoleum Aluminum Semi-Gloss? Not quite sure... We are not looking for original but we do like the color tone with the front end.

Mac's Auto Parts has a listing for Argent paint used on air cleaner housing and suspension parts. Their part number is 49-52421-1 and the cost is $13.95 (+ shipping).

VHT offers an Argent paint in aerosol that I have always thought was spot-on.

The Argent paint I had was a paint for wheels, supposedly the same Argent Silver as late model Mustangs.

I used Ford Argent silver from Concours parts. Spray can cost is $12.95. Yes it is in their latest catalog. BTW, It is a very good product. I used it for the splash pan and the oil-bath air cleaner. Once the paint has dried and hardened, it can be wiped clean with a gasoline soaked cloth if desired and it won't dissolve the paint. You can't say that about hardware store brands

I used the VHT wheel paint, it has a light gloss to it but covered well. Think it was $10 for the can and Auto Zone should have it. I used the leftovers to paint the back of my bumper (after blasting the rust off it) and still got 1/2 a can.
