Default How to remove stripping?

Got a 3M stripe off wheel and thought it would take the stripe line off my '36, no such luck. After reading the brochure that came with the wheel it says it's good for removing adhesive type stripping. How do I get the painted on stripe off the top of my single stage enamel?

Try wet sanding with 2000 grit then polish the scratches out. Using a solvent may damage the enamel.

Try some "Goof Off", but I think you ask for the impossible.

Good old EASY-OFF oven cleaner in the yellow spray can. Spray a small amount in a tiny container, like a spray can plastic cap. Take a wet rag and dampen a couple of feet of your stripe. Dip a wet Q-tip into the Easy-Off. lightly rub/paint it onto the stripe. Just let it sit while you wait five minutes. Then, wipe the stripe off with a soft, damp rag. Old pinstripers' trick that works.

WARNING: Try the Easy-Off on your paint in an in-conspicuous location to make sure it does not affect your base paint. DD

don't most pin stripers use one shot lacquer, which can be removed with lacquer thinner.
