Default Headlights reflectors

Hi,
in the 2 bulbs reflectors, the parking bulb goes on the top or in the bottom of the reflector ?
The following photo shows the parking light on the bottom position

Aside from looking strange, it would probably work about the same either way.

Except your main bulb would be upside down and high beam would be incorrectly focused

Actually, the main bulb would remain correct, as it is stationary and not part of the reflector....

Oh yeah, it is, isn't it. The holder is mounted to the shell with the focus screw, not to the reflector.

Hi Guys,
again many thanks for your answers.
Regarding the reflectors and headlamps I have another question.
I bought the 2 bulbs headlight socket, but I don't know why I can't connect the socket with the 3 cables through the back headlamp socket
Any idea what I'm doing wrong or maybe I'm missing something ?
Some photos of how the cables goes imto the headlamp would help a lot.
Cheers and tks in advance.
Charlie

I thought the bulb holder was keyed only on one side so that when the focus screw is turned the bulb would not rotate in the reflector. I don't have a set handy to double check.

It has been my experience that the repo sockets are nothing but a short waiting to happen. I prefer to rewire original sockets. They are not too hard to find at swap meets. Gar Williams

Charlie, I'm not sure exactly where your problem lies. Do you have the right conduits and plugs? Here is a diagram that may help you sort it all out. I'm loading both a PDF and a JPG, because I don't know which one will show better.

Default Headlights reflectors

Hi 700rpm,
i bought two bulbs cables for headlights and I can't introduce the blue circled socket through the red circled hole in the headlamp

Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Maybe I need to buy something more in between ?
Cheers,
Charlie

Charlie,
There are 2 styles of head light buckets, 2 wire & 3 wire. Post a photo of
the head light bucket, from the outside, on the bottom.
