Any information on this pop out head! Made by electrolock? Length of tail at 2-1/8” puts it at July 28 to mid 29

Vern depending on the length of the cable that pop out can be used in Model A`s with the oval speedo. 28-29 had a shorter cable than the early to mid 30

Head:
Solid back head will be 28-early 30
The key number should be stamped into the popout ring

Yes there is a key number. Can a key be made using that number?

Thanks for all the input, had never seen a solid back before. Always come across something new.

I took mine out. The cable that runs through them tends to melt the insulation off, and short out. Happened to me on a tour, and my car quit. I had a wire with me and a alligator clip.

Mine is an original one, with keys and good screw holes too. Was all painted up pretty and everything. Heck, most people don't even recognize what they are.

Dick Crabtree can do it. He did it for me and keyed the passenger door lock to match the same key.

I have run original unrestored popouts in my Model A’s for 60 years and have never had that happen. In fact, never even heard of it happening.

Yeah, and I think I paid like $90 for the thing. Used it for several years. It did look cool though.
