You can install wells in original fenders and you can buy a nice reproduction fender with the well, those are available from Brookville roadster brookvilleroadster.com

That would be a good idea, then it could be changed back. The wells make it a little hard to get in on a 28,or 29.

I dropped a fender by Bill Gift in PA several years ago on my way to Hershey and he did it while I waited. Now I do all my own metal work and fender repairs but installing the well.... and getting all the details just so.. well.. lets just say you have to be "gifted" . no pun intended. He put them in with the correct scallops on the ends like on the 30/31's perfectly.. has done lots of them and did a superb job. If you want his number pm me.

He's truly a "gifted" metal fabricator. You can of course do them yourself but it is at your own peril. I preferred the correct spot welds and no filler. I refinished the rest of the fender and the final product with the well turned out perfect!
