If the front of the flywheel is wet, oil is leaking from the main seal or the aluminum bracket that holds it. If the rear of the flywheel is wet, the trans is leaking, the torque converter, or the throw out bearing. In any case, it will be a lot of work to repair, If you have a small puddle, it may be easier to live with it.

drip from time to time
fly wheel and clutch are dry
back of oil pan and oil pump , trans ,starter won't stay dry
so there is a small leak and flywheel is blowing it around

What I've always done to trace a leak is this:
Clean off garage floor with sawdust and sweep away clean and dry.
Get under car with a shallow tub filled partially with gasoline and a soft cloth and clean away all the oil seepage, then get a dry cloth and dry real good.
Run engine a while and pull the car back onto garage floor.
Wait till you see one drip spot and crawl back under car and trace the leak to it's source. May need to take flashlight and use your bare finger to detect wet oil.

do not rule out the possibility of a leak from the Valley cover, or a valve cover. they can leak and run down the corner of the block and can get inside the flywheel side of the bellhousing, making it look like a rear main leak.
