Default '36 Crank Hole Cover I.D.

An older friend of mine gave me the crank hole cover pictured below and told me it was off his old '36. Since he's getting on in years, he wanted me to have it. I tried verifying that it was actually a '36 (my friend is having "memory problems" and is sometimes confused - other times, sharp as a tack ! I tried googling for info, looked in the '35-'36 Ford Book, as well as doing a search on the Ford Barn, but I don't seem to be able to come up with a definite match. Vendors don't appear to carry any repro's, either. It does fit it in the center strip hole of the grill, but I'd just like to see if it is for a '36.

Thanks for your input.
-Bob

Kind of flat for fitting on the contours of a '36 grille and there were no Ford-released crank hole covers, so it is aftermarket at best.

Most likely a universal aftermarket cover made to fit various brand vehicles with a crank hole. Such as this---
