Re: Ideas were to mount a fire extinguisher?
I realize not everyone has a trunk but I carry a 2.5 lb. Halotron in mine. I also have a 1930's "Fire Stop" extinguisher, "for looks only"...
Keith, I like your "Fire Grenade" idea, is that your collection? Last edited by Y-Blockhead; 08-23-2016 at 05:52 PM. |

Re: Ideas were to mount a fire extinguisher?
Oh heavens no, just some pictures I pulled from the net.
The only thing I throw at my car is money. But it would be cool.

Re: Ideas were to mount a fire extinguisher?
Yes, love the fire retardant package!
For a phaeton mount I might suggest the front floorboard parallel with the front seat center behind the gearshift lever, as close to the seat as you can get. Handy yet kind of out of sight. ... maybe you can "package" it cleverly like 31ModelA! Larry |

Re: Ideas were to mount a fire extinguisher?
This thread got me to thinking.........this is what I thought up.
I took a piece of 4" plastic soil pipe (to small inside diameter); made a parallel cut up the side; turned a piece of scrap wood the 3.25" diameter of the fire extinguisher; forced it in one end spreading the plastic and then trimmed the open end at an angle (45 degrees approximately) until the extinguisher was able to squeeze in; stood it on the floor and screwed it to the kick panel. It does take up a bit of foot room but I'm usually alone anyway. If'n the screw don't work I will reinforce the back side and put a T nut and use a machine screw instead of a wood screw. It is visible and should be easy for a Good Samaritan to locate. Russ |

Re: Ideas were to mount a fire extinguisher?
I personally believe that on the package rack is a poor location. It is exposed to the sun and extreme heat. It should be on the floor properly secured or behind the seat. Wayne.

Re: Ideas were to mount a fire extinguisher?
In my Coupes, I just lay it in the package tray. I'd rather have a bump on my head, than a FIRE!

Package tray?
Does anyone have a picture of an installed package tray for a 30-31 roadster? |

Re: Ideas were to mount a fire extinguisher?
I don't believe the roadster had a package tray. Install on RH kick panel like in post #23 or what I described in post #24.
