Default Hidden bolts??

Replacing the clutch on my 36 truck but can't seem to free off the bottom housing. I have removed the 3 bolts arrowed in pics, 2 on the drivers side and 1 beside the starter and gently tapped the housing but it doesn't want to come away.

Have I missed a bolt?

Thanks

You do realize the ENTIRE oil pan needs to come off, and don't forget the bolt in the picture below. DD

No---the vertical seam right by the third arrow is not a point that can separate. It is where the lower clutch housing overlaps the pan and is spot-welded to it. Ain't gonna come off nohow. You'll have to remove the whole pan!
Later 11" clutch vehicles eventually got a pan with a removable clutch section.

The bolt in your pic was missing V8COOPMAN, and no I didn't realise the oil pan needs to come off too!! Can that be done with the engine still in the truck?

The pan will come off in some years/vehicles easier than others. I'll let some '36 truck guys and gals address that one. DD

Ok thanks guys, I could see the seam and thought it would be a quick job to change the clutch whilst I had the trans out!! Nothing wrong with the clutch so maybe will leave for another day, summers coming!!

The whole pan has to come off. What you are looking at is part of the oil pan. The pic is of a later pan but the clutch end is the same as what you have. The 36 had some baffles.

Thanks Ed. Is it possible to take the bolts out and drop the pan a few inches to just remove the pressure plate and clutch or do I need to completely dismantle as in pics?
