If you don't have time to do it right the 1st time, how do you have time to do it the 2nd time?

Saw a preview of the show and was extremely disappointed. One scene of supposedly Henry racing someone had an interior shot showing a short floor shifter, square rubber-covered clutch and brake pedals and a rubber mat on the floor. I'm afraid there will be a lot of fanciful "re-enactments" and little concern for historical accuracy.
That said, I will probably watch, out of curiosity if nothing else!

Henry Ford, Bless his soul, was a very controversial subject. Especially by today's standards, His dalliance with "Mrs Dahlinger", His views as expressed in the Detroit Independent, His treatment of Edsel, are all grist for the liberal mill. I don't expect the presentation to be very flattering.

I've been very disappointed in the series in general. A prime example was the segment on Andrew Carnegie. Especially the material on bridging the Mississippi. Different bridges were shown and all were represented as the BRIDGE. The crowd casts were sparse. The train shots were taken from stock footage and were out of period and included Europeon trains. All in all a low budget, poorly produced series with an axe to grind.

I would suggest that the best way to view this series, is that far from providing an accurate rendition of history, it provides people with a reason to study this time in history.

There are many excellent books regarding this time period and the people for those that want to really understand what happened.
