Re: Trying to determine color of my car
Computer screens and digital cameras do not reproduce true color shades. Something to be aware of.

Yes, the chips in the paint book for some colors are useless. Try to lift the cowl lacing, the original paint under it should be protected enough to get a better match. What I did was buy a pint of the colors I thought I wanted and then shot them on a 1 foot square. I think some of the auto paint stores sell paddles for painting samples and then you can hold them to the car for a match. The less than $100 that it will cost you is nothing compared to the final cost of the paint job. Hope this helps. Take care, Ed Last edited by Ed Wendell; 09-11-2016 at 12:35 PM. Reason: edit typos |

Re: Trying to determine color of my car
A previous owner may have painted it a color that suited them and it may not be an original color. Even if they did try to match the original color, they may not have exactly hit it.
If you need to touch up the paint and/or paint the fuel tank, take the car to a good body shop and they can mix you up some paint that will match the current color.

Go to an automotive paint supply jobber and have it digitally scanned
