Cool blood hound !

I've passed on a number of real nice 5K tachs, because some need a 'box' to operate.
If you know, how to tell if such a tach needs a BOX ? Is there something(s) to look for...like number of wires or what, to show that a box is or is not needed

You just have to find some info on the model to know if it takes a "box".

Never trusted tachs after my buddies Norton tach got installed in error on my Velocette. Could not understand why it would not go over 5,000 rpm. Found out later it was actually running at 10,000 rpm without damage. That is why I loved the Velocette. Not many 500cc single cylinder motorcycles could run like this without imploding.

BTW listen to the motor, do not rely on cheap instruments.
