Default Horn questions

I searched on the Barn for this information (though I know I have it somewhere myself), and could not find it, but can anyone tell me the proper thickness of an original Sparton horn diaphragm versus the reproductions out there? Also, do any repro diaphragms have the proper shape and height to the center "rivet"?
What is the thickness of the original paper gaskets for the horn? One per side of the diaphragm?
Is A & L the source for the best of these parts, or do other vendors carry acceptable parts?
Thanks.

I bought a reproduction diaphragm and the center point wedge was loose would turn, it was not sharp on the end like my original... and I did not use it. My original was warped and wouldn't work so I was given an original from a club member in good shape and of course it works great.

I agree with Neal Stegall The Horn Man, Allen Lepore does the same good job his father, Al Lepore did, and A&L Parts are excellent.

Hi thanks for the recommendation on A & L. I still would like to know the thickness of the original diaphragm (I miked .019 on my original part and .022 on the repro I have with the ugly looking center rivet). Near as I can tell the gaskets are thin, approximately .006" (brown paper bag thickness) but I cannot be sure with all the rust and the fact they are compressed.

No web site, you must get personal with a phone call. Great folk to work with.

I have found the original gaskets are thin, like your paper bag. Replacement ones are quite a bit thicker and changed the tone of the horn. Go with the thin style, maybe a thick paper bag will do.
