Default Engine Questions

Ok, so I've pulled my engine out of my '40 coupe. I'm going through it to check everything out. It's bored .060 over, with 4 ring pistons, 8BA rods, and one piece valve guides.
I'm in the process of pulling the crank out, and I'm wondering about the fasteners. On my '36 LB engine, the crank main caps are held by studs and castle nuts. This engine has bolts with lock washers.......is this a problem?
Also, the connecting rod nuts are "double nutted" with a tin nut. Is this acceptable? Thanks, Joe

The tin nuts are Pal Nuts& work OK.Dont tighten them very much or it will damage them.If the main cap bolts are the correct ones, lock washers are not needed.
