Default Door Locks and needing a key.

So I pulled the door locks out of my doors on my 47 Ford and noticed this code on the tumblr. Can anyone tell me what this code is for? Or is it the key code? Also the steering lock Tumblr I pulled from another 47 Ford. And is there anyone that could make all three of these work under one key or do I have to have separate keys for everything in? I really want to have just one key for the doors and steering lock.

The code on the locks is the key code. 32phil on the barn can do it for you. He did the same thing for me for my 34.

Here ya Go

Early Ford 32-48 keys cut by code. $10 each key $5 for each additional w/same number. I prefer to have the lock but will cut just by code. I can do some 1950 to 1964 call on those because the blanks may be different. I can do locking handles w/out the number, call for details. Personal Checks OK. Any questions/phone help, call 32 Phil

Rusted Junk, Your cylinder marked FH707 code has a punch code of 55122, and the one marked FK389 has a punch code of 43151. Keys can be punched directly from these codes. If you want 1 key for all cylinders then the ignition cylinder's tumblers will have to be changed.

Thank you for the key codes. Is changing the tumblers on the steering lock/ignition a expensive process?

It is a bit tedious to re-pin the OEM Hurd ignition cylinders, but I do them in my shop. Since, you already have two matching door locks, I agree with Don Rogers above that the ignition lock re-pinning is the way to go.
Let me know if that is what you would like to do. It would require sending the ignition cylinder and at least one of the door locks to assure they all work together.

You would be making the pins in the locks the same. The 5 numbers are the length of each pin.

Just a FYI for all the 'Barners out there
I agree 100% with FlatHeadCoupe.
It is a tedious process at best to match door locks/ignition cylinders.
Knowing the key code number (FX XXX) is the first part of the process.
Next you need the code itself which is the specific depth of each cut.
Once you have the proper blank you can cut the key.
Once you have the key, MAKE SURE IT WORKS IN THE LOCK !, now you can disassemble the lock you are going to match it to.
Using the code select the proper pins and place all ten of them in the lock..ONE AT A TIME all 10 of them along with each spring and cap. You have to do 1 chamber at a time, checking the operation each time to make sure the lock still works.
Remember......all these parts, 20 in all, are smaller than a grain of rice. Once it's all working properly you can seal it up and hope it still works !!!
At this point you have at least an hour in this one lock.
I hope this helps clear up some misconceptions about how this is done.
Phil

if it,s not a show car. just remove the tumblers on all the cylinders this way the one key will work on every thing .the cylinders look the same .you still have to use a key to turn the cylinder. don,t worry about theft if they want to steel your car nothing will stop them locks were invented for honest people.p.s you save a lot of money you would have to pay a lock smith . and no body can tell when they look at the door or ign they will still you need the proper key.

Good idea, hadn't thought of that one!
