Zenith Tricks of the Trade
Are there any fool proof (referring to myself) methods for extracting the Adjusting Needle Housing from Zenith castings? I've got a couple of these that just won't come loose with a wrench.
I've tried penetrating oil, lots of bad words and searched for 13/32 wrenches to no avail. I have experience with being irrationally exuberant with those brass fittings and would like to avoid those results this time. Any sage words of advice would be muchly appreciated. |

I soaked a dry absent of oil or gas Zenith carburetor in Evaporust, it came apart very well.

Deep 6 point socket. Now 13/32 ( .406") may be hard to find, but try a 10 mm socket, pretty close, should fit.

Heat it up,put a dab of Lard on it. Will come right out then. This works every time on Marvel carbs also.

Wick, I have seen that done with an accetalyne torch and bees wax on exhaust manifold studs that are broke off and rusty. Of course you would melt a carb is you used that kind of heat.

Re: Zenith Tricks of the Trade
I used a 10mm deep well socket on mine and got it out.
