I'm chasing a vibration and thought I'd recheck the torque on my engine mount bolts. I don't want to flatten the donuts unnecessarily. 25 pf correct?

Clem, I've never set those engine/transmission mounts, with rubber donut motor mounts to a specific torque reading. I usually tighten the nut to the point where the cotter pin can be inserted.

Tighten nut down until you feel the resistance of the biscuit. Then tighten until you can insert the cotter pin. For some reason my 40 has acorn nuts. They were there when I bought the car in 1963.

Thanks Mart. I never thought of that. I know the front suspension was replaced before I bought the car but, never thought of king pin locking bolts.
They have worked fine.

I found I had to tighten the nus a good bit to expose the cotter pin holes.
