Hi fellows I need a rebuilder for my 53 Mercury flathead engine as close to Cleveland as possible. Jim T.

Make sure you get a detailed written estimate for each operation that will be performed on the engine so there are no surprises. A recent Fordbarn post about a fellow who had his engine "decked" and possibly ruined during the rebuilding process comes to mind.

A good running flatty "stock" rebuild is all you really need unless you're looking for a high performance build.
