Default Repeated Comments About Sacramento Ford Wiring

Hardly a month goes by that a member comments that wiring harnesses from them is superior. While it is great for the hobby to have numerous outlets, is there any verified evidence that these harness are in some way better?

I have used many different kinds, but Sacramento vintage contacts are better especially where the headlights hook up.

They are indeed superior to some other Model-A harnesses. I am not saying that Sacramento Ford's are the best, since there is Tyree that also manufactures a superior harness. There are a couple of other harness manufacturers in the New England states that can make a very nice harness also.

What makes Sacramento & Tyree Harris' harness superior to others IMO is they are not a 'one size fits all' harness, and the cloth covering the wiring tends to be superior (resists color fading and deterioration due to oil & heat). To some people, something that works is satisfactory to them. If they find terminal ends corroding after a few years due to poor coatings, that is ok with them as they will install a 12v battery to bandaid the issues. Also, some could care less about wire colors or lengths, just as long as it is cheap and functional.

no denying that headlight hookup has been a recurring topic here....

I can tell you that Sacramento Vintage makes the best headlight and tail lamp looms for early '28s.

I have seen photos and descriptions of Sacramento Ford wiring loom assembly
looms/machinery. It is all done in house, and is their signature product...like for the past 30 years.

It's nice to see that the Sacramento Vintage online catalog offers several Model A wiring components, in both 12 gauge and 10 gauge...
What are the comperable operating benefits? Safety issues? The cost differences seems negligible, but would they create noticeably visible differences, or performance differences?
If there are safety issues, would there be any significant point deduction in Touring Class judging? How about Fine Point?
Pat Musante will be rewiring the Cabriolet very soon, almost three years, to the month, ,from when it was pulled out of the barn in Stanardsville VA...
He finished the engine in the end of March, 2021, almost exactly 90 years to the day since Ford stamped the block... [Engine # 44961922, best-guess date is March 24, 25, 26, 1931]
I will try and post some pictures.
TallyHo...

Sorry!!! Should have written:

Sacramento offers both 10 gauge and 14 gauge choices... [not 10ga and 12ga!!]

I just wanted to ask if there are any significant safety improvements from using the heavier wire?
Thanks

Heavier wire - no. Heavier insulation - yes, less chafing to cause a short. Heavier wire reduces wire resistance, but not so much you would notice. Connections are more stable, tend to last longer.
