Has anyone used this torque tube seal and if so how well did it work?

Thanks

I have yet to have any leaks develop using the cork (OEM) seals. Perhaps the adage "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" applies here?

I use the rubber tube one, and it works fine. Easy to fit.

I probably have the same one Bassman is using ready to go in the 5w coupe. The one I have is sold by Hot Rod John (John Kovar) in Ohio. I have never seen that blue one that's mentioned here.

Same as JM, I use the one that John Kovar sells. I've seen it from time to time on ebay.

It does not address the source of the usual leak, namely the transmission. I use felt for the torque tube cap and there's never a leak at that point.

I used one of the epay "space shuttle " seals after reading so much hoopla here about the wonders of it . Guess what - It didn't leak much atall but then cork or felt don't leak much for me either . This is with SAE 140 . If you have a leak here your u-joint is over full . This is a wiper - not a seal . Now the 2 bell gaskets are a different story - they can leak badly if you do a poor job of putting this stuff together . I'm sure your blue seal will work fine but why bother - cork & felt work fine . On a 1973 F-250 4X4 I had years ago it had enclosed front knuckles that you filled with gear lube . SAE 140 of course . It called for 90 but izza fond of the goo . NEVER had to replace the outer u-joints or knuckle bearings . 140,000 miles when I sold it .They had felt as a wiper in there . Your call but remember if you overfill the u-joint cavity it WILL LEAK no matter what you do about this . Factory spec is 4 oz on filling it . The tranny is the leak issue normally .
