That is a nice find. Are those front running lights under the headlights original? Mine has three piece fenders and running lights on top of the fender.

Beautiful!

Now that you mentioned the parking lights I took a closer look, they appear to be ’47-’48 Ford parking lights and I can’t really see in the photos if there are mounting holes in the fenders for the stock ’41 parking lights. Vic

You are right, they are 47-48 park lights. There was a set of new original 41 park lights under the front seat.

Sooooo, got a 6V battery today and hooked her up.

The good news: The headlights, tail lights, dash lights and convertible top motor all work! The engine also turns over

The bad news: has a couple stuck valves. I dunno if I'm gonna monkey with it or just dump another engine in it. I have a 59AB with a Merc crank I am building, it may find it's way in there to help move the ol' tub along.

The back seat also shined right up with a little elbow grease!!

Chris:

Pull the plugs and squirt some Marvel Mystery Oil in the holes or which ever cylinders you think have the stuck valves. Let it sit overnight. Come back the next morning and try again. Keep doing it for a few days. You may find they'll come undone. Not uncommon for this to happen on a motor that has sat for a number of years.

Good luck.

Chris, if I were in your shoes, the only thing wrong with me would be the concussion that I got from the wife for bringing home something else to play with. Congrats. Nice car

Yeah, I'm really lucky my Fiance is supportive. I text her when I was making the deal on the car "You are going to kill me" (she had no idea I was even looking at it), and she replied "sounds like a car deal you better do it if it's a good buy"! She's out of town working and has not seen the car yet, but she'll dig it

Ok, so I dove into the engine tonight. It's always a nice find to see adjustable lifters inside! It took me FOREVER to pull the head off...finally wiggled it off. It got a lot of dirt knocked in the lifter valley and head surface from yanking the intake and head that I have to clean. Either way, got the two stuck valves moving and everything looks great. The flash makes the engine look rusty/grungy but in person it looks super decent. She'll run again
