"Get your fanny movin"............"Hey Bub"

I use to use the "Get your fanny movin" until I started living in britian, 'fanny' in britian is not all that great to use, especially to a gal.

'Bub' came from german immigrants and they pronounce it 'boob' meaning 'boy'

OH shit!! I just realized, I may be getting old, not only do I remember most of these terms, I still use a lot of them today, hey, but that's cool, don't really care, I'm living in fat city now and life is good.
I'm just glad I still have the memories, and was blessed to live in those great times.
These youngsters today will never know how America "used" to be.
Poor dumb bastards

I remember my dad saying "He who passes on hills and curves is not a man of iron nerves...he's crazy!" Might have been a Burma Shave ditty or some such.

I went to the mens workwear store the other day and asked for some galluses. I got this blank look from the ladies working there. Had to ask for suspenders to get what I needed.

I was a Hippy in 1965 till 1968 then I was in the U. S. Army for a long time. I heard some different words for normal things. Most I can not type here but I believe a lot of you G I types will remember. Sorry to ramble on but got to tell you all a story that happen to me last week. I went to Wal-mart and ask a young lady if they had turn tables for sale? I got a deer in the head lites look and a blank stare. Good thing I did not ask for a stylest, needle for my hi-fi. The world has changed in my short visit to this life. Good memories fellows Don in Indiana

Still have my Pioneer Turntable from college. Still works. Don't have my little Advent speakers though.

"and make it snappy!...." {Do it fast, quickly, hurry up.} My most favorite '20s-'30s saying. I picked it up from the old movies on TCM.

What's a pound sign, other than an outdated unit of money? It's always been a hashtag here.
