I was doing about 46/47 mph, heard a load boom, sounded like a backfire but came from the engine, about 20 miles down the road, shit broke loose, pulled off the road, engine died, water with a bit of oil splashing out the front seal, what was in the block was boiling and the motometer was to the top. Called AAA, just got back, started it up and got her in the garage. She lost 1.5 gal of water and a quart of oil. Larry said I blew a compression chamber in the head gasket. She's back on his To-Do list.

I here I thought I was finish with women blowing their top with a temper-tantrum!!!!! Boy was I wrong...............

Just like all the other times, be good to them, treat them nice, fix them up, make'em look purdy and what happens!!!!!! They leave you standing by the side of the road!!!

Maybe your problem is you treat them too well. Treat em like a woman. "Treat em mean, keep em keen"

There you go..........didn't I recommend a top speed of 45 MPH.
See what happens when you exceed that speed.

Tom,
I have to admit it's a strange occurance... I met him for lunch today, adjusted the clutch 1 1/2 turns on the trunion... adjusted a brake a click or two, and test drove. Admittedly I took her up to 55 once but it did fine and should handle that with ease... and did. there's about 2K on it since the rebuild. Engine was running awesome! I just got done telling him at lunch these things are like kids...subject to act up at any time without warning... and then blamo while he's on the way home!

I think it blew and he drove it a bit... so it got hot. Hopefully all else will be AOK. I'll have to get back up his way and check it out soon. Not to worry... it is currable with parts/time/money!

Larry

I will drain the oil later today and see what it looks like.
