Whatever Happened to a New Block Production?
I tried to research this but got confounded. Didn't we have a series of posts some months ago about a gentleman who was working on a project to create new engine blocks?

Yes Tod is working on pouring new blocks. Not sure how many he has done and in what form though.

Re: Whatever Happened to a New Block Production?
I have not heard anything lately. Tod Buttermore was the one that was making the new blocks. I read that he cast several blocks which were close copies of the original blocks. Apparently he secured an interest in a foundry and was proceeding.
On the other hand a gentleman in the San Francisco area was redesigning the blocks using finite element analysis to improve the design so that the block could withstand high HP output with reliability. He has a website. He ran into many problems getting foundries to produce good castings and may have run into money problems also, I have not seen any progress from him in several years. I have not seen anything from him lately. Terry Burtz is his name. I am told by some engine rebuilders that they are having trouble finding good blocks to rebuild and want your old one as an exchange. Vic |

I am machining two aluminum blocks right now. I will be casting some more iron soon. Lots of things to do. Tod |
