Default Replacing inner cowl panel on 30-31

Hello

Does anyone know how this part was originally attached? I have new lower patches with compound curve but just realized the lowers are toast. So before I cut I'd like to have a better idea if they were riveted or spot welded before I open it up? The originals seems to have small holes along the top edge. The repros don't.

Thanks!

Both ….two rivets, each end and spot welded about 6 times

Yeah Ford was sneaky, they use some rivets for misdirection then spot weld the seam when you aren't looking.

They’re more fun putting in than taking out!
If you’re replacing the the old ones were likely rusted out. That doesn’t make finding the spots all that easy. I usually just air chisel and go from there

Okay that's good advice thank you! I should have them Friday maybe open it up and start picking around over the weekend and try and get them off. Maybe if I sand on what's left maybe I can see any dimples where they may have been spot welded. We'll see
