What year Model A?

I jest - but these HAMB automobiles are coming into their own as "collectable."

My mind goes to growing up - one of my older brother's friends was "Scab" (nick-name) I was taken along on a ride to get "ice cream" and remember well looking down between my feet and seeing the roadway passing by. Scab had a 28-29 Coupe - but that was only a name he gave on the registration.

Mom never found out about my trip in Scab's car. I don't think she would have approved.

Synchro-Culd be a Toyota- my grandson gas one with 262,000 miles on it, Only repair was a valve cover gasket and foggy headlights.

Saginaw shows up in the orig picture. I left there when I was 2 for SoCal. Going back as a kid there was stuff stored in garages and barns everywhere. My dad's aunt and uncle in nearby Midland still had their Fordson tractor tucked away in the barn when it was torn down in the 1990s to build a tract of homes.


It's still a Model A - just not a style that you prefer.


Someone took a lot of time "customizing" this car to personalize it. It was a car they loved. Given it's unusual I'd say it stands a better chance of survival than a "normal" Model A. The Hokey A** Message Board (HAMB) is full of early cars of all makes that people own or are building. Probably 1/3 of them are "Bangers" equipped with hot rodded Model A/B engines.


Bottom line people like and build cars to their own personal preference. By MAFCA standards my Coupe does not even fit into their Modified judging class. My 1939 trans is acceptable but my 1936 Kelsey Hayes 16" wheels are not. If I ran straight spoke 1935 16" wheels it'd be acceptable.
