Memorial day thoughts
As we celebrate (in whatever fashion you desire), an extended weekend, please remember the reason for the occasion: brave men and women (who were moms and dads, brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles) gave their all in support of the freedoms that we enjoy......and, in fact, continue to place themselves in harms way to this very day. Freedom is NOT free, and we enjoy our lifestyle because of those who wilingly sacrificed for US. Greater love hath no man than he lay down his life for another - spoke and proven by Jesus.
Blessings to all and REMEMBER!

Re: Memorial day thoughts
So you are saying it's not an extra day I can do circles on a lake with my jetski?

Re: Memorial day thoughts
I was out today in the rain, helping to place flags on grave sites at Fort Snelling National Cemetary. The lady and I placed over 750 flags...............among all the other volunteers.
The organizers asked that before we placed each flag, that we read aloud the name on the stone marker. Very humbling experience. |

Re: Memorial day thoughts
Maybe just a bit off topic, but when we visited the Twin Towers Memorial, my wife touched each and every name as we passed thru. She still wears red, white and blue very Tuesday since 9/11. My dad gave his life when I was 1 year old so I could be here today. Thanks Dad!

My dad, 3rd AD somewhere in France - WW II. He made it home and it is right that we all pay tribute to those who did not. God Bless America and each and every one.

Re: Memorial day thoughts
Perfectly stated, Marcus. Thanks you to all who have served.
June 6 is my personal holiday. Get up early, sit on the deck with coffee or walk the trail with the dog at daybreak. Always remember our freedoms. Dave |
