Check your mail.
Hinges are going out today. Hope they correct your alignment issues.

For those of you still following along, here is a new update. Thanks in large part to a set of “new-to-me” OE hinges from @BrentwoodBob I was able to get the rumble lid working and fitting half decently. I have to say it. My home is the HAMB, but I couldn’t have built this body without the help of the Ford Barn...

Actually, come to think of it, you guys were instrumental in the Flathead build as well.

Thanks for checking out my videos, and to so many of you for subscribing and commenting on the videos to help them move through the algorithm. You Tube tells you were your traffic comes from, and like 40 percent of mine is coming from here. Seriously you guys, it means a lot.

Clever fabrication. The repos were close, but the mounting holes are off, and a 1/2 inch shorter than the OEM.
Turned out good.

Been following your video’s because I have a 30 Roadster project. Very impressed with your work.

Two questions:

1. Did you build a special table to rest the body on?

2. The body looks very nice did you media blast it and if so, what media did you use? I’ve been thinking of using that Dustless Blasting?

Yes I did. It is built from 2x6 planks and a single sheet of 3/4 hardwood plywood. Built to 4’x8’, which fits the body perfectly.

Thank you! Yes, I have sandblasted all of the original panels...with good old play sand sifted through a sheet of screen (household window and door style). Through the small Harbor Freight pressure pot blaster...in a residential neighborhood in the suburbs.

I hesitated to post this one because I’m getting away from the “body” rebuild and into the “hotrod” phase of the project, but since the thread is here, and some of you have expressed interest/support, here is the latest video and some pictures.

The rivets go through the same outer holes used to attach the subframe cross channel to the main subframe rails and basically secure the mid bottom area of the quarter panel. I may have some pictures of that area. Also the placement of the front vertical braces to the subframe in the rumble compartment doesn't appear completely correct for what it's worth. Keep up the good work.

Here’s an update:

Thanks Randy, for pointing out my omission of those two rivets!

Yes, but believe it or not, I’ve gotten more interest from this site.

Red face Re: You Tube Roadster Body Rebuild Series; from the Subrails Up!

If any of you Ford Barners want to critique/correct me, it would be much appreciated. I don’t have much to go by here…

McMimmcs,

I commend Casey for keeping a lot of us updated on his progress. The lack of posts does not mean people are not following this thread.

It’s not a problem for me, is it a problem for you?

So far you are one of two people who have made comments to this end. I don’t want to seem tone-deaf, but YouTube tracks the “click-through” rate, which leads me to believe that there are more folks here who appreciate my updates than not. I mean, if I’m wrong, please tell me. I certainly don’t intend to force myself into a community that I’m not welcomed.
