Mart's Garage update 2021/Ep23/Pt1. Strip a door down and make it fit! Metal abuse!
Hello. Welcome to Mart's Garage. Friday Edition.
This week I push forward with the 32 Sedan. I strip the doorlatch and regulator from one of the doors and show what I needed to do to make the door fit. Which means I basically kept bending things until I got the desired result. In part 2 I will then look at repairing the door latch and the regulator. Part 2 will be published on Sunday so be sure to look out for that one. Mart. https://youtu.be/okvinNlcLv0 |

Hey Mart, I watched most of part one but fell asleep because I was totally bagged. What I saw was great and will be extremely useful to me as my 5W doors are out of whack. Binding at the top mostly but there are other issues as well. I'll be rewatching the whole of part one and then go onto part two. Thanks for posting!
Two things I want to ask though... have you given any thought to a latch mechanism for the passenger seat as it would be a rather miserable face plant for whoever would be riding in it in case of an accident. And do you index you videos for us to refer to at a later date for that particular nugget we might need. Yours and CWM are a wealth of info but I need someway to search content... |

Thanks 'son.
I don't intend to add latches to the seat. Lack of seat belts makes the face plant inevitable, rather than lack of seat latch. I'm kind of just setting it up like they were done originally. I don't tend to index, but I do try to use meaningful numbers. First video for 2021 was 2021/01 and so on. I also add the sequential number for the project for example this weeks videos are part 40 for the sedan build. Thanks for following along and commenting. If you need to find anything in particular you can ask me, but I just thought about the playlists. There is a playlist for the 40 pickup, one for the crusty flatty, one for the 32 sedan etc, so that is a good way to find things more easily. Mart. |
