I stripped it down, lapped surfaces on fine emery paper. Carefully fitted back and all good now with no squeal. Original gasket reused, nil spares in my o/haul kit?
All surfaces now tight and free of air leaks.
Appears it has a 5.0 Power valve fitted as 5 was showing on top plate. All free moving.

Glad you fixed it,only I would never reuse a gasket on a carb. Your luckey it don't leak.They take an impression in them and usually wont seal again. Good work I sell any loose carb gaskets you may need. Ken ct. usa @ $1 ea. for any of the 3 main ones andless for the smaller ones. Merry Xmas.

Umm, last time I looked, the base of a 94 had slots cut from this hole to each bore of the carb providing vacuum to the power valve cavity. The gasket -- with or without the hole has no function. Can you explain yourself more thoroughly Ken ct?

No I cant,but ALL 94 gaskets have this hole and NO corisponding hole in the manifold. ken ct.
