Default Heater motor wires

Ok, got the heater motor out and she spins freely!!!!! Question is the wiring insulation is dry by can be moved without cracking. Should I:

A) get a new one
B) put heat shrink around each wire
C) take it apart and rewire it-assuming I can get into it.

Thanks,

Mike

Ps, I found 6 more bullet holes in the fire wall.

OK, I am assuming you are talking about the heater core for heating the insides of the car that has coolant hooked to it that does the heating. I am also assuming that you mean that the wiring is old and cannot be moved without cracking. If this is correct then replace the wiring. You can buy antique looking wiring from Restoration Supplies, see https://restorationstuff.com/ and download the catalog.

If you are talking about an electric heater for some application, they usually have special high temperature hookup wire. If this is the case then the old wire may contain asbestos so be careful.

Hi Mike, looking at the firewall I think you must be talking about your '57 wagon. Like nkaminar says, best to replace the wires, bring it over when you bring the carb and I'll install new wires for you.

Sorry wrong forum. I should have posted in the late V8 forum. But thanks for the ideas.

Mike
