'41 Woodie headlamp bucket to fender question
Hi Everyone.
Exciting times, Im doing some work on the Woodie! Ive restored the headlamp buckets and they are ready to go back onto the car. I have a Vintique set of bolts to fix the buckets to the fender and I assume the fender should have clips to provide a threaded hole for the bolts to fix into. But I cant find them anywhere. The ones I have are way too small. Can anyone recommend a source for the correct clips? Alternatively I could just use a nut on the back of it all, but this seems ultra-fiddly. Can anyone help? Thanks. Ed |

Re: '41 Woodie headlamp bucket to fender question
Just guessing from your description as I recall they are held on with sheet metal screws and spring nuts, not bolts.

NcMaster-Carr has a variety of spring nuts, order them today and you will get them tomorrow.

Re: '41 Woodie headlamp bucket to fender question
CASCO, the Tbird parts supplier, has spring clips for the headlight buckets. While for a 55-57 TBird, they may be the same as a 41.

Re: '41 Woodie headlamp bucket to fender question
I took my screws to a hardware store and matched them to spring clips, for my '41.

Yup, I used to tell the local hardware store owner that he was the second best Corvette parts supplier I knew of.
He never appreciated it. |

Re: '41 Woodie headlamp bucket to fender question
Folks - I don't have an answer to the Woodie but I thought since this may be a group dealing with 41 Fords, I would chime in. I'm doing body off restoration of my 41 Ford Deluxe 2 dr sedan and getting ready to put body back on frame. Need help in finding the right manual that covers the instructions for re-assembly, location of the rubber pads, etc. I bought the bolt kit from Early Ford but it does not include any instructions. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Re: '41 Woodie headlamp bucket to fender question
Bailey, I think you would get a quicker and better response to your question if you started a new thread/topic that is relative to your project.. ie; 41 body mounting, re-assembly. Be specific with the body style, 2 dr, 4 dr, etc.
