Always a fantastic meet. I didn't need many (any?) parts, but there were plenty available. Hard parts, lots of fenders and other sheet metal, bodies, a few complete cars. My favorite was this pretty much original 31 Woody.

Asking $13,500

That's a beautiful woody I would leave it as is and wish she was closer

I agree.
There are so few good original left that it definitely should be left alone and enjoyed as is.

I saw a nice original 29 Phaeton for 12K at my first national meet in Kansas City years ago, but I had just bought my 28, so I had to pass on it. Unfortunately the owner restored much of it before a couple years went by, and now it's just another 29 fixed up.

Tom , unfortunately collectors like the cars perfect and restored and can understand that. Original is so awesome and cool no matter the car or year....

I've been going to Portland swap meet for 38 years. The weather on Friday was the worst its ever been. Seems like the crowd was down a bit. I had a great time and I'll be back next year.

Here's a few more pics...

https://www.flickr.com/photos/996911...h/33812802371/

It has some new wood in one door and the tailgate. It needs a few other pieces installed to replace rotten ones, but the owner has those ready to install. The owner is a long time Model A guy and owns 10 other Model As. He's had this one for 12 years or so. Nice guy. He said this one could be driven to California tomorrow.

I have too many cars right now or I'd be all over it. A pretty special car.

The weather was rainy and windy on Friday, but that just makes for good prices . Saturday was pretty nice. A little rain on and off, but sun breaks too. Oddly enough it was more crowded on Friday than Saturday.

I usually find some interesting stuff at the Portland Meet but not so much this year. The wife says that's a sign that I already have way too much interesting stuff. The weather was typical but not the worst I've seen; one year it rained so much there was flooding in the lower section and I was happy to have brought my ditch boots. One goofball had a clam gun and clam shovels on display with a sign saying that the best parts are just below the surface and you need to dig for them.

I agree. I've been going for 30 years and have seen as much rain and wind as we had on Friday and more in past years...plus 15 degrees colder

We have really been spoiled the last several years with shirtsleeve weather many meets. We were over due.

I attended the Bakersfield swap meet on Friday and Saturday. Attendance and vendors were down just a little from past years. Weather was predicted to be a little morning rain for each day but it never happened. Instead, I got a bit of a sun burn on my fore arms. Model A parts were very affordable. One fellow had a 1930 model A gas tank that had been dipped/stripped clean inside and out and it looked straight. I almost bought it for only $50 but I didn't because I didn't need it. I didn't think that it could have been dipped/stripped for that little of money. A lot of good A sheet metal was available, mostly model A fenders.

I have seen weather that was just as wet, just as windy at the Portland Swap meet. Bill's station wagon is nice. It does need a top and the tailgate bottom is/will need work. There is some missing wood. Saw a Jern Thumderbolt Model A setup at one booth, complete with 28 Chevrolet head for asking price of $3000. Other wise same normal stuff.

I waited all year for today
To go to the swap meet and play
It was 40 degrees
I thought I would freeze
Why don't they hold this in May?

I went to the Portland Swap
To get some more stuff for my shop
But it caused me some strife
With my sweet lovin' wife
Now I eat my meals at IHOP.

I went to the swap meet with cash
Walked past miles and miles of trash
But it wasn't a bust
I bought three tons of rust
And increased my pile of stash.
