Default Zephyrs loaded to a new home

I help a collector with help from time to time on his collections, he had all six of the Zephyr coupe years and he's had them for some time and it was time for them to go to a new home.

I lined them up and loaded them on the hauler of choice by the buyer for transit out west. Yes, I would have preferred an enclosed for sure!

It's rare to have/see one but all six years from '37-'42 may be the only collection like it in the world.

I call them the girls... so yes.. I have the girls all lined up for their final farewell. Then, a final transport shot. It was a tight fit, and a challenge to load.
I thought you guys would like to see them so sharing the final farewell. My favorite is the blue '39.

Beautiful cars. Shipping them all on one transport maybe economical, but that is putting all your eggs in one basket. To manage risk, you distribute the potentials for loss.

I agree guys but it is the choice of the buyer. I didn't own them.... just help with service work. It was the choice of the new owner to haul them as shown.
I totally agree I would have done transport much differently if they were mine.

If it wasn't for the late model truck it looks like another load out for delivery back in the day to the dealers.

What beautiful models!
I don’t think there was ever a custom built coupe that matched the Beauty of the Zephers right out of the factory!

Wow, What an impressive collection. Are all six Coupes going to the same new owner, or is the collection being divided between the new owners? Larry, thanks for sharing.

"stinkin heifers" are among the prettiest if not the prettiest coupes ever built.

Larry, I assume they all went to the same place and the collection stays together? That is an impressive collection. If it were mine I'd have a hard time letting go.

That is a line up that I would truly have liked to have seen in person! A car show in itself.

Yes Seth they are staying together. Sadly they are leaving the country going down under.... These are not mine... but were from a collector friend in the area I help with his cars. He's enjoyed them for some time and at 80+ it was just time for him to pass them to the next good home. Yes, I do wish I could have afforded one.. but am thankful I have the cars I have.. including my own '40 convert. They are beauty's for sure. I have always called them the girls... and as Tom Wesenberg says they truly are girls "because they have skirts on them and beautiful curves"!

My pleasure to share guys.

Bill, yes it was. I was also emotionally wore out after loading!

These are the creme' of the art deco era cars of the day. Each one truly works of art. The dashes etc are just so cool. I took a photo of each Dash interior and will share that later. It took all day to load them as I personally drove them on the the carrier. Good thing as the driver had not had ever handled one before and didn't really have a clue. He was good in the end and thankful I assisted. It took the watchful eye of 2 and me driving to get them placed safely. Now the hauling and delivery is his responsibility.

All the best guys!
Larry

Wow ! I am glad I did not see them going down the road. This sight would probably have put me in the ditch ! A friend of mine owns to Lincoln Ks, a 34 limo and a 37 limo - He also has a 39 Zephyr 4 door. His Son has a Zephyr coupe, but its a parts car at best. They were SO beautiful.

Coming from down under myself I know this collection will be well looked after and treated like the gold it is.. but I just can’t image what the new owner paid for them. With the current exchange rate being terrible for aussies .. it would be a damn car hauler full of cash

Thank you for posting those pictures for us. I'm sorry to see them leave us, but am happy that they will be staying together. Someone will have a fine collection. No doubt it must have broken the previous owner's heart to see them leave. However I do realize that we are all caretakers of our wonderful cars. Jay

I'd love to own a Zephyr some time. I saw a 39 Model K sold for what seemed like a low price a month or so ago. I still wonder whether I should have bought it, but I have too many to keep up with already.
