Nice picture, Smurkey. I could sworn that was my deck. Here in St. Cloud the schools were shut down.......again. The ice will never be off the lakes by May 11 for the fishing opener this year in northern Minnesnowta.

After last weekend it was very warm (25°C) until Thursday, it has now also started snowing again. In Switzerland, Bernese Oberland near Lake Thun at 0600pm. This winter is a never-rich beast.
There is nothing to ride this weekend.

Greetings Barney

I have a feeling my work up there this spring is going to be severely impacted this year. I was supposed to be up there in a week or two, but loks like I am going to push it back again.

I thought this snow was done when I came home last night at 9 with the ice cream, but when I looked out the window this morning I was surprized by how much more had fallen. It's such a heavy snow, I'm undecided if I should use the blower or the blade. Last week I had water in the basement and some of the bakelite Model A parts are getting moldy. With this mess of snow I expect I may get more water in the basement. I'll get rid of the snow for at least 12 feet around the house, and clean the drive in hopes the Model A can come out for the spring tune up session.

In other words, it's Minnesota without the snow and cold.

I liked upstate NY, but my dad left when I was 15, partly due to high taxes and politics, but Minnesota is the same, except much colder.

Hey Tom,

Good one! As a kid working on farm, never got to eat ice cream and such. They had an antique ice cream churn ...but everyone on that farm was tooo old/busy to use it! And, I didn't know how Hey , we did make dandelion wine in crocks in their sellar...as long as I'd pick the "BUCKETS" of dandelion flowers to make it. I wasn't permitted to sample the stuff...but did...terrible tasting stuff

Hey MNFATS,

If you have the car in your avatar, winter is just about right...you have a long driving season.

I agree, and he can put a plow on it to clean his driveway, AND MINE.

I just came in from plowing out my driveway and around the house, and a path to my Model A workshop. I started out using the Cub Cadet with the blower, but about 1/3rd of the way through the heavy snow wrecked the belt, so I had to finish up using the original Cub Cadet with the blade.

Now if we can get some rain to wash off the fresh coating of road salt, then the Model A can hit the road for the first time this year.

This would have been a great winter season to use the snowmobile had it not been for the fact it has been snowed in since February and I can't get to it! With the amount of snow received I don't believe it would have been much fun trying to drive it. The lake on which I usually drive, has a coating of about 20-30 inches of snow, then about a 15" of water until you reach 30"-36" of ice. I did have a chance to run it a few miles in late January, so my "driving season" did pan out. I'll bring it to a couple shows this summer (on a trailer of course), and look for a more normal winter next year.

C'mon guys. You all know it used to be lots worse before we polluted everything with our internal combustion engines. Be thankful for global warming. Imagine how cold it would be without it. :-)
