Default Spindle Part Question

Hello. I was hoping to get some help in identifying the part presented below. This part came off the driver side spindle on the front axle of my 1917 Ford. It was placed at the very back of the spindle. The hub had the older ball bearings. I looked through my Langs catalog and did not see it listed.

The part has "Ford" in script written on it, but I could not find any other numbers. I am in the process of replacing my front wooden wheels with new rewooded ones with new Timken bearings throughout. I am wondering if this part has something to do with the old ball bearing setup. My passenger side front hub had old Timkens installed and the driver side had the ball bearings. The passenger side spindle did not have this odd part.

Your thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks!

That is the inner race for the ball bearing type of wheel bearings.

Diagrams for the round ball bearing races and bearing, and the later Timken taper roller races and taper bearings. Parts don't interchange.

Thank you gentlemen. Looks like I do not need this part to use the new Timken bearings.
