ID cyl head markings
Found this one cyl head with a mark I'd never seen before. What year/model is this from?

Any chance that it is a head for the 337 cu.in motor Just a shot in the dark.

Looks like a 35 truck with flat pistons.

Re: ID cyl head markings
51T would be truck in or near 1935. In the prefixes the 5 would be the last digit of the year it was designed. The RH should be right hand side. On the other one, I don't know. 67 was not a common prefix number.

Re: ID cyl head markings
67 is 1936 commercial...
51T MIGHT be a Canadian 1946 designation...I found some inconclusive suggestions of 1946 221 use in Canada, vague and not conclusive. BUT...we don't know nuttin yet! How many stud holes, what sort of water outlet on the heads?? |

Re: ID cyl head markings
What the others have already said, ..... plus a picture of the complete head would be a big help. That compression chamber is not that unique. I have some early 21 stud, wp's in heads, cylinder heads with that chamber configuration on both cast iron and aluminum.

Re: ID cyl head markings
Eyeball the 51 T...could it be an 81T from worn mold?

Re: ID cyl head markings
That might be an 81T. Photographs are harder to tell thing like that. It would make more sense for a 24 stud head. The forming process for the cores wasn't always real accurate.
