Default Gates Fan belt

After reading the responses to Evan NPG+ Collant and what a Gates fan belt would do I have been looking for the Gates belt. I can't seem to find any listed in the catalogues I have. Would someone please list the part number for these belts and what distributor might have them. I realize I will need to measure the size I will need. Thank you.

Lang's carry them. Just check fan belts.

Just talked to Lang's and they do not carry them any longer. Any more suggestions will be appreciated.

Try NAPA. They carry Gates. There are 3 lengths commonly associated with Ts. 30", 31" & 33 3/4". One of these is Gates number 819 -- maybe the NAPA fellows could start from that & the size you need. I will try to check a couple of cars in the barn & see if the numbers are legible --

The Gates belts work well. I have used serpentine belts on other cars with good success. Again NAPA can match the length & width you need.

Rockauto.com has them and most NAPA stores either have them or can get them. You will be very pleased when you have one. Model T fans tend to be underrated but it's usually a slipping belt problem. If you have an old belt a bit of rosin can make a huge difference. Sometimes spraying some good dish detergent on it and then a good hot water rinse will get the oily residue off and get it clean enough to grip really well.

John: Thank you very much. I will call NAPA in the morning and keep rockauto.com in reserve. Also, like your car; the belt is going on a 23 "T" speedster.

Abbie, be sure it`s not too tight, it will eat the fan bushings pronto. Yes, I did.

Just returned from NAPA and they were unable to match a number with Gates 813. I went on line to rockauto.com and they had it and it has been ordered. Let's see what happens from here. Thanks for the help and the info on Rockauto; I will keep that for use again.

the flat gates belts were relisted as commercial belts a couple of years ago.
Some stores have a hard time getting them. Some warehouses have them but don't know it. Maybe they are listed as truck belts but I think it is commercial or industial.
Try industial first.
This is how they were listed last I bought some:
811 was 22 1/2 inches long by 1 1/8 inces wide.
813 26 3/4
814 31 1/2
822 36 inches long and 1 inch wide.
They are no longer listed with the car belts, like you can't go to Ford and look under model T or by any year. At one time they were.
I have also seen some cars with ting belts in-side-out running fans & water pumps on the T.

Just an update on the Gates Fan belt. Lang's no longer has them, NAPA could not match it up with commercial, I have been waiting almost a month for Rockauto to deliver, they had allready charged my card with the order and they told me Thursday they could not get them. I have ordered one from O'Riley's and is suppose to be delivered in seven days. We will see.
