Re: Model A's in the snow
[QUOTE=BILL WILLIAMSON;1563229]Be sure to use SKINNY tires in the SNOW!!!
Back in 1968 my rancher neighbor in Northern Colorado bought a brand new Ford 1/2 ton PU, brought it home and installed a set of model A wheels, wrapped a chain around through the spokes. He said 4x4's weren't needed and this was all he needed to feed cattle in deep snow. He lamented the fact that he no longer had a Model A flatbed to feed with as he claimed that was the best thing short of a wagon pulled by a team of Belgians |

Re: Model A's in the snow
heya Frank55A, that's way too close to get to that cold lake for my comfort. I'm sure you knew your distances, but that was brave man!! BEAUTIFUL Phaeton!!

Re: Model A's in the snow
Where I live, I only remember snow twice - once in the early 60's and once about 1987 or 1988. At that, the snow was probably gone by about 9:00 am. So unfortunately, there won't be any pictures of my Model A in the snow, but I can drive the car all year long. I do enjoy seeing the pictures of the cars in the snow. Enjoy them wherever you are!
