Special tool for installing rubber on glass
Bad experience with the Bob Drake special tool to install rubber and glass on car. Tore the rubber in several places. What a POS. Tool now resides in the trash can....Going back to the string method. Works...

Re: Special tool for installing rubber on glass
I have a cotter pin removal tool from snap-on that I like. Also a large flat blade screwdriver rounded off and sanded smooth. I like dawn liquid dish soap for lube.

Re: Special tool for installing rubber on glass
The tool is only used to ease the gasket around corners or work out any bulges in the edge. We use a strong nylon cord and Ivory liquid dish soap. Our helper tool is an old screwdriver with the tip bent at a right angle. You have to anneal the tip with a torch in order to bend it, as screwdrivers are hardened.

I only use glass cleaner. That's what i was taught by a professional glass installer (shop owner). The glass cleaner will not suds and after it dries, is pretty much "gone".
