I have used them several times without a hint of a problem. Instructions say not to use any additional sealant, however I always coat both sides of the gasket with a thin film of lithium grease.

Like Carl, I use a thin film of axel grease. It helps keep the gasket in place while installing, and helps with removal of the gasket later. Bill

Is the new self sealing gaskets similar to the head gaskets which are sealable?
Also can someone provide Snyder P/N?
Thanks for your help.
